Surah Al-Infitar (The Cleaving)

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ

82:1 When the sky splits open,

وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ

82:2 and when the stars scatter,

وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ

82:3 and when the seas burst forth,

وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ

82:4 and when the graves are overturned,

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ

82:5 each soul will know what it sent ahead and what it left behind.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ

82:6 Human being, what has deceived you about your generous Lord,

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ

82:7 who created you, shaped you, and balanced you,

فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ

82:8 putting you together in whatever form He willed?

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ

82:9 No indeed! But you deny the Judgment,

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ

82:10 while surely over you are guardians,

كِرَامًا كَـٰتِبِينَ

82:11 noble recorders,

يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

82:12 who know whatever you do.

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ

82:13 The righteous will surely be in bliss.

وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ

82:14 And the wicked will surely be in Hellfire.

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ

82:15 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgment.

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ

82:16 And they will not be absent from it.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

82:17 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgment is?

ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

82:18 Then again, what will make you realize what the Day of Judgment is?

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ

82:19 A Day when no soul will have any power to help another soul at all, and all command that Day will belong to Allah [God].
