Surah Az-Zalzalah (The Earthquake)

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا

99:1 When the earth is shaken ˹in˺ its ultimate quaking,

وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا

99:2 and when the earth throws out ˹all˺ its contents,

وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا لَهَا

99:3 and humanity cries, “What is wrong with it?”—

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا

99:4 on that Day the earth will recount everything,

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا

99:5 having been inspired by your Lord ˹to do so˺.

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ

99:6 On that Day people will proceed in separate groups to be shown ˹the consequences of˺ their deeds.

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥ

99:7 So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُۥ

99:8 And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.
