Surah Al-Fatihah (The Opener)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1:1 In the name of Allah [God], the Most Compassionate [to all creation], the Most Merciful [to those who turn to Him].

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

1:2 All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds [everything that exists, and everyone in it].

ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1:3 The Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

1:4 Master of the Day of Judgment [when everyone is repaid for what they did].

إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ

1:5 You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.

ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ

1:6 Guide us [and keep us] on the straight path,

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

1:7 the path of those You have blessed [the prophets and those who followed them], not of those who brought Your anger upon themselves, nor of those who lost their way.
