Surah Ar-Rahman (The Beneficent)

ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
55:1 The All-Merciful.
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
55:2 He taught the Quran.
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
55:3 He created the human being.
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ
55:4 He taught him clear speech.
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
55:5 The sun and the moon move by precise calculation.
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
55:6 The stars and the trees bow down.
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:7 And the sky, He raised it, and He set the balance,
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ
55:8 so that you do not overstep the balance.
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:9 Keep the weight fair, and do not short the scale.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
55:10 And the earth, He laid it out for all creatures.
فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ
55:11 In it are fruits, and date palms with sheathed clusters,
وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ
55:12 and grain with its husks, and fragrant plants.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:13 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ
55:14 He created the human being from ringing clay, like pottery,
وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
55:15 and He created the jinn from a flame of fire.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:16 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ
55:17 Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:18 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
55:19 He released the two seas; they meet,
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
55:20 with a barrier between them; they do not overrun it.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:21 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
55:22 From both of them come pearls and coral.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:23 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ
55:24 And His are the ships, raised high on the sea like mountains.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:25 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
55:26 Everyone on it will perish,
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:27 but the Face of your Lord will remain, full of Majesty and Honor.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:28 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍ
55:29 Everyone in the heavens and the earth asks Him. Every day, He is attending to some affair.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:30 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ
55:31 Soon We will attend to you, you two weighty kinds [humans and jinn].
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:32 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
يَـٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ
55:33 O company of jinn and humans, if you can pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass beyond. You will not pass beyond except with authority.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:34 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
55:35 A flame of fire and smoke will be sent against you both, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:36 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ
55:37 Then when the heaven splits open and becomes rose-colored, like murky oil,
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:38 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:39 on that Day no human or jinn will be asked about his sin.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:40 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ
55:41 The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:42 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
55:43 This is Hell, which the criminals used to deny.
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ
55:44 They will circle between it and scalding water, fiercely hot.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:45 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
55:46 But for whoever feared standing before his Lord, there are two gardens.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:47 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍ
55:48 Both with spreading branches.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:49 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
55:50 In both are two flowing springs.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:51 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
55:52 In both are fruits of every kind, in pairs.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:53 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
55:54 Reclining on couches whose inner linings are brocade, with the fruit of both gardens within easy reach.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:55 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
فِيهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:56 In those gardens are companions with modest gaze, untouched before them by any human or jinn.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:57 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
55:58 As if they were rubies and coral.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:59 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ
55:60 Is the reward for good anything but good?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:61 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
55:62 And below those two are two more gardens.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:63 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ
55:64 Deep green.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:65 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
55:66 In both of them are two springs gushing forth.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:67 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
فِيهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ
55:68 In both of them are fruits, date palms, and pomegranates.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:69 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌ
55:70 In them are good, beautiful women.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:71 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ
55:72 Fair ones, secluded in pavilions.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:73 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:74 No human or jinn had been intimate with them before their spouses.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:75 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ
55:76 Reclining on green cushions and beautiful carpets.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:77 So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?
تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:78 Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
