Surah Al-Mursalat (The Emissaries)

وَٱلْمُرْسَلَـٰتِ عُرْفًا

77:1 By those sent forth, one after another,

فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ عَصْفًا

77:2 then storming with force,

وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا

77:3 and spreading far and wide,

فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرْقًا

77:4 then separating decisively,

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا

77:5 then delivering a reminder,

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا

77:6 to leave no excuse, or to warn:

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ

77:7 what you are promised will surely happen.

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ

77:8 So when the stars are wiped out,

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ

77:9 and when the sky is split open,

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ

77:10 and when the mountains are blown away,

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ

77:11 and when the messengers are gathered at their appointed time:

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ

77:12 For what Day has their appointment been delayed?

لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ

77:13 For the Day of Decision.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ

77:14 And what could make you know what the Day of Decision is?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:15 Woe that Day to the deniers.

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

77:16 Did We not destroy the earlier people?

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ

77:17 Then We make the later ones follow them.

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

77:18 That is how We deal with the guilty.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:19 Woe that Day to the deniers.

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ

77:20 Did We not create you from a lowly fluid,

فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ

77:21 then place it in a secure lodging,

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

77:22 for a known term?

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَـٰدِرُونَ

77:23 So We set the measure; how excellent We are at setting the measure.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:24 Woe that Day to the deniers.

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا

77:25 Have We not made the earth a holding place

أَحْيَآءً وَأَمْوَٰتًا

77:26 for the living and the dead,

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَـٰمِخَـٰتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتًا

77:27 and placed in it high, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:28 Woe that Day to the deniers.

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ

77:29 [They will be told,] “Go on to what you used to deny.

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِى ثَلَـٰثِ شُعَبٍ

77:30 Go on to a shade with three branches,

لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ

77:31 neither cool nor any help against the flame.”

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ

77:32 It throws sparks like fortresses,

كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَـٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ

77:33 as if they were yellow camels.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:34 Woe that Day to the deniers.

هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ

77:35 This is a Day when they will not speak,

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ

77:36 nor will they be permitted to make excuses.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:37 Woe that Day to the deniers.

هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَـٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

77:38 This is the Day of Decision. We have gathered you and the earlier people.

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ

77:39 So if you have a scheme, then scheme against Me.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:40 Woe that Day to the deniers.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَـٰلٍ وَعُيُونٍ

77:41 The mindful will be in shade and springs,

وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

77:42 and fruits of whatever they desire.

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

77:43 “Eat and drink in full enjoyment because of what you used to do.”

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

77:44 That is how We reward those who do good.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:45 Woe that Day to the deniers.

كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ

77:46 Eat and enjoy yourselves for a little while [in this life]. You are criminals.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:47 Woe that Day to the deniers.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ

77:48 When they are told, “Bow in prayer,” they do not bow.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

77:49 Woe that Day to the deniers.

فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ

77:50 Then what message after this will they believe in?
