Surah Al-'Adiyat (The Courser)

وَٱلْعَـٰدِيَـٰتِ ضَبْحًا

100:1 ’ By the galloping, panting horses,

فَٱلْمُورِيَـٰتِ قَدْحًا

100:2 striking sparks of fire ˹with their hoofs˺,

فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًا

100:3 launching raids at dawn,

فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًا

100:4 stirring up ˹clouds of˺ dust,

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا

100:5 and penetrating into the heart of enemy lines!

إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌ

100:6 Surely humankind is ungrateful to their Lord—

وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ

100:7 and they certainly attest to this—

وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ

100:8 and they are truly extreme in their love of ˹worldly˺ gains.

۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ

100:9 Do they not know that when the contents of the graves will be spilled out,

وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ

100:10 and the secrets of the hearts will be laid bare—

إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ

100:11 surely their Lord is All-Aware of them on that Day.
