Surah Ash-Sharh (The Relief)

أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ

94:1 Have We not uplifted your heart for you [O Prophet],

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ

94:2 relieved you of the burden

ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ

94:3 which weighed so heavily on your back,

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ

94:4 and elevated your renown for you?

فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

94:5 So, surely with hardship comes ease.

إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

94:6 Surely with [that] hardship comes [more] ease.

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ

94:7 So once you have fulfilled [your duty], strive [in devotion],

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب

94:8 turning to your Lord [alone] with hope.
